The Tenderloin – We Rock Hardest

Polk and Eddy
Civic Center/Tenderloin

Englishman Ben Eine has many murals around San Francisco.

Here is a video of the installation:

The piece was done to launch his gallery exhibit at White Walls Gallery.  They did a marvelous interview with him that you can read here.

I always love something that’s colorful.

Oh, sometimes I think my English is too poisoned with French. I was thinking this was some Franglais with something about the East rocking hard. :S
I get it now though! And I love the colors and lettering. 🙂

I hardly ever remember the names of the street artists you show us. Thank goodness I can go back to your archives and come up to speed. The interview with Eine was interesting. He’s at the point in his career that he makes the distinction between graffiti art and his studio art. I especially like his work that has been supplemented by street artists. There’s something organic about this process. Thanks, Princepessa, for participating in Monday Mural. I learn so much from you.

I cannot believe I never saw this one! It’s lovely!
I heard SF had great weather over the weekend. We did here too but nothing like a sunny day in the Bay area.

It definitely makes the side of the building less dreary.

After seeing your previous posts and reading the interview (esp his interet in typography), I appreciate this street art more. Glad he went beyond tagging. Another fascinating post, thanks, Princepessa.
